1. Who we are

What Do I Cook is a mobile app that lets you save and organise recipe links from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other websites. The app is operated independently and can be reached at hello@whatdoicook.app.

2. What information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to make the app work:

• Account information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
• Recipe data: The links, dish names, notes, ratings, and collections you save inside the app.
• Anonymous usage: When you first open the app, an anonymous account is created automatically so you can start saving recipes immediately — no sign-in required.
• Device information: Basic device data (operating system, app version) for bug fixing and improving the app.
• Purchase information: If you subscribe to Pro, payments are handled by Google Play and RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never your payment details.

3. How we use your information

• To store and sync your saved recipes across devices when you're signed in.
• To manage your subscription and enforce plan limits.
• To fix bugs and improve app performance using anonymised crash reports (via Sentry).
• To understand how the app is used in aggregate (via PostHog, anonymised).

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to anyone.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers (PostgreSQL database hosted in the Mumbai region for Indian users). We use row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible by you. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

5. Third-party services

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Sign-In — for authentication
• RevenueCat — for subscription management
• Sentry — for crash reporting (anonymised)
• PostHog — for anonymised usage analytics
• Supabase — for database hosting

6. Data retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time directly from within the app via Settings → Delete Account — this immediately and permanently deletes all your data, including recipes, collections, and account information, from our servers.

Anonymous accounts that are never linked to a Google account may be removed after a period of inactivity.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data we hold about you (use the Export feature in the app)
• Delete your account and all associated data (from Settings → Delete Account)
• Contact us with any privacy concerns at hello@whatdoicook.app

8. Children's privacy

What Do I Cook is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
